I have been coming to Beaver Creek for 20 years and The Golden Eagle Inn is my favorite restaurant for lunch. The food is top-notch, great quality and the service is professional. The owner is almost always on-site overseeing the flow, service and food. If i'm going to eat a hamburger and french fries, I want them to be great. Their's are great. Salads are great. Soup is great. When weather permits, I prefer to sit outside and enjoy people watching and the surround of flowers in bloom. The interior is nothing special and can use some yearly updates but it feels like you're in a fine restaurant with tablecloths and heavy utensils. Though I would not rate this a family restaurant for kids, my children have always loved eating here and appreciate the great food and service. They have always found something they love even when they were at their pickiest. I highly recommend The Golden Eagle.

Our ski instructor recommended this place for lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. For the prices and quality of food you get here, it's almost the same price as eating at McCoys or the Lodge by the slopes which taste like cafeteria food. Salads were fresh and great, elk chili was good comfort food with all the fixings, and the chicken sandwich with avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes, arugula was delish too.

Small. I could not imagine coming here at night during ski season. Walking in here I didn't feel that it was fancy or a 4-5 star restaurant. Nice jeans and a fashionable ski sweater is all you need to dine here. My well vodka martini was tasty at 8.25 and the man's scotch was silk smooth at $6. The bathroom... I loved the bathroom. though it was a single stall it was modern. Could you install a hook so us ladies could hang our purses? I really don't like to hang on to my possessions as a squat. Thankyousoverymuch. Half the restaurant had be reserved for my friends rehearsal party. One long table was assembled with multiple booths and a lone 4 place table. Servers were nice, though the slow. The father of the bride even commented that you expect the main course after the salad in less than 20 minutes. The preselected menu items I had include: Caesar salad, grilled flat iron steak, flour-less chocolate cake. The caesar salad was light on the dressing and was adorn with sardines, not anchovies (unless these were super special anchovies I've never seen before). The flat iron steak probably would have been a delicious medium rare slice of beef if it had been served while warm (ahem 20 minutes in between courses?). The flour less chocolate cake was rich and fantastic. I forced myself to finish the slice with some help of the very smooth cab I'd been sipping on during the 3 hour dinner. Dinner started at 6:30 and we were out of there by 10:15. Nuff said.

The boyfriend and I made our way to this resturant by word of mouth. A local set us up with a reservation and I have to say I was impressed. It's a bit pricey, but then again we're talking about Beaver Creek, so what's pricey to me isn't pricey to BC. :) I ordered the Chicken and Dumplings and wow... I was impressed! This was great. Bubba was a great server who made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was romantic, yet not overly done. I like how the walls open to an outdoor patio to enjoy the nice evening fresh area of Beaver Creek Village. This made for a great romantic dinner for two!

Drove over to Beaver Creek to walk around and decided to try out the Golden Eagle Inn. It is right in the heart of Beaver Creek, and with it being summer time, they had all the floor to ceiling windows slid back accordion style, so it had a nice indoor/outdoor feel. I had the Elk Loin and it was delicious. A nice medium rare, very tender and great flavor with some wonderful fingerling potatoes. My wife had the trout (which the waiter said was one of their signature dishes) and enjoyed it very much. Our daughter had the spaghetti with marinara off the kids menu and liked it as well. My wife and I both tried it and agreed the pasta was cooked well, and the sauce tasted fresh. An enjoyable meal, and it being a slower time in Beaver Creek, it was nice and quiet, with no crowds.

Great Lunch menu. The BLTA is really special, due to the BACON they use. I highly recommend you dine here.

We went here for dinner last night and it was amazing. Based on prior reviews we thought it would be good but it exceeded expectations. My husband had the wag it steak and it was one of the most tender, juiciest steaks we've ever tried. I had the scallop appetizer for dinner and it was to die for. They had a slightly spicy rub on top that gave them some extra flavor. We also ordered the slide it two ways which were amazing. They used a special Japanese bun which gave it a very unique twist. Finally, our server was hilarious. Between her and the manager we were definitely taken care of. They both checked on us consistently and ensured that we had everything we needed. One recommendation, if it's during ski season, get a reservation. We were a little early to ours and the place wasn't too busy; however by 730 it was packed!

Absolutely outstanding food. We used a coupon and got a huge three course meal, all of which was excellent. Both my wife and I had fish, and the cuts were delicious. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake, which was freshly made. Note, the actual address is in Avon, there is no such town as Beaver Creek. It's in a private community, and the parking lots are very skimpy, and finding them inside the mall area is a real challenge. Don't be afraid to call for directions, they will walk you in.

Always always always come back to this great Resturant! Have been coming to the Beaver Creek for 20+ years and it's as good today as it was then...probably better! Great management always hires professional staff and chef always has a great menu. Love it!

Beaver Creek is a tough place to dine. It's really overpriced and in my experience the food is somewhat mediocre and dated in style and presentation. We were in BC in mid-June and it's a good time to be in town because there are specials to be had and it's a calm, very mellow experience. We researched our options for dinner and Golden Eagle had a great prix fixe special and great kids' meals. I liked my parmesan-crusted trout and affordable mojito. My kids' salmon was good! And affordable. I would come back here. It's not amazing, but it's very doable, especially considering what's around. Yes, good stuff.

Busy during ski season, and especially during events. TIP 1 - Lunch is served until 4 and is 1/2 the cost of dinner, so if you can beat the ski crowd off the slopes, beat the dinner prices and get here early. TIP 2 - Get a window seat and people watch while you eat. TIP 3 - Lots of game served here and it usually comes rare. You have to tell them if you want it any other way. 3 Amigos Tacos ($15) - Seasoned finely chopped (almost ground) elk meat on small tortillas with cabbage and a chipotle mayo topped with avocado. Deliciously tasty and just right for lunch. If you have a choice of fries, get them both. The sweet potato and the garlic fries are both excellent. Game Burger ($12) - Elk, venison, boar, antelope, and buffalo all ground together and served with caramelized onions on a brioche roll. Great flavors but not sure how many people can distinguish all the different meat flavors. May be worth ordering just to be able to say you ate all those meats. Overall, delicious wild game flavors in a place with nice ambiance and views, but the best value is the lunch that is served until 4:00.

Very solid and very big portions. Service was a little confused, but very nice. Duck wing appetizer is a must.

The Golden Eagle restaurant in Beaver Creek Colorado used to be one of our favorites - not recently. Last evening was our second try - should have known better. There were 6 at our table. 3 of us ordered the trout. Mine came out so burnt that I could not even cut it with my knife - I sent it back, only to receive a slightly less burnt piece. My husband ordered the pasta special, which came with a giant meatball - would have probably tasted good, if the meatball wasn't overcooked to resemble a piece of coal. The pasta, described as "spicy" was so hot, it could not be eaten. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the area - find one of them. Stay clear of this one !

Ordered several small plates in lieu of entrees and was so happy with each dish! The elk salad was a highlight, for sure. Their house vodka cocktail (made with lychee) was delicious and unique. Our server was friendly and brought us some extra bread, which was pretty awesome. All in all, a really enjoyable dinner-- and not absurdly expensive like so many of the Beaver Creek restaurants can be.

We were a group of 14 that was in beaver creek for my wedding. This was the best restaurant we ate at the entire week. Our server Augie (not sure how to spell it) did an amazing job. He did not miss a thing the entire meal. The food all had a great presentation when it came out and everyone really liked what they ordered. We felt like we got a great value there and complimented the manager on the way out. Most of the people in the group are restaurant general managers and directors so we know a good experience when we see it. Thank you and great job!! We will be back!

Not a $$ restaurant. Server was friendly, but food was week and serving sizes were small. We will not be going back.

Top notch New American food in heart of Beaver Creek village. Sign outside and the name don't do justice to the gorgeous interior -- best art gallery that I have seen in Colorado. I would go there just to see the paintings (and I don't even like art!). Oh yeah, the food is fabulous too. We had grilled red trout and lamb t-bone on israeli couscous, both of which were fantastic and good portions, unlike many other places that serve sophisticated fare like Golden Eagle. The menu also has simpler items like burgers if you want a less elaborate meal.

One of the best meals I've had in years! The Elk perfectly grilled and presented. Even placed correctly to show off the plating when it was brought to the table. Really shows a staff who is paying attention and cares. The wife's beef tenderloin so tender and flavorful. Each dish paired with the most amazing sides. I could not have been happier with the food, the service, everything. Definitely somewhere I'd return again and again.

Have been going here for 20+ years with my whole family. It is our go-to in the Vail Valley for consistently good food and great service. We love dinner here during ski season and especially love lunch on the patio in the summer. With many of the restaurants in Beaver Creek being hit or miss, the Golden Eagle always has local game, great salads and soups, and a good drink selection. We will keep coming back for many years to come!

My wife and I arrived early as we are on East Coast time. We were famished. Host was very welcoming. Waiter was great. Very professional and friendly. Food was fantastic. I ordered the quail which was the early special that evening. It was cooked perfectly; moist, but thoroughly cooked. My wife ordered the trout. It was perfect as well. Treat yourself and order a side of roasted brussels sprouts. They are very savory and delicious. Mixed berry cobbler for dessert. Tart and sweet. Loved it. I will go back.

Amazing 'creative American' cuisine at Beaver Creek Resort. EVERYTHING was exceptional! I had the filet with polenta and spinach. Cooked right, very flavorful and a good portion. They have some great items on the menu like elk, antelope (interesting taste) and duck. So if you like game meat, you'll love it here. They also do things like tuna, salmon, trout, chicken and beef for non-game lovers. Big thumbs up for this restaurant, and it gets a rare 5 stars. Exceptional, don't miss it!

We were parched so stopped in for a few beverages at their little bar. Good service and seems like the perfect place to have a nice chill dinner after a day on the slopes at the Beave.

Just had a rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour and it was fabulous. Much less expensive then any other venue in BC. We had an open air private room and beautiful patio area to mingle surrounded with flowers.

Best restaurant in Beaver Creek village, at least for this last trip there. We liked it so much, we went back three times. I ordered the fish and chips twice for lunch because they were so good. I really recommend them. I don't understand why they would serve them with cheese fries, but I asked for regular fries and it wasn't a problem. My wife got a veggie sandwich and it was okay, she told me. Her sweet potato fries were really good, too. For dinner, I had a bone marrow appetizer (very good) and a Chinese style Colorado bass dish for my entree that was really great. The ginger creme brulee was really good, too. The drinks were average. There was an issue with the bartender trying to give me a cocktail with honey and all the honey was sitting there at the bottom and then the waitress tried to explain how that's normal. What, huh? No, it's not. Any average bartender knows how to dissolve honey in a drink. Anyway, the waitress was nice about it and I didn't expect much given the artificial ingredient mixers in the cocktails on the list. I definitely recommend coming here. And one thing I should mention...the owner seems to be the one checking everyone in and even when it's a madhouse and you don't have a reservation he really makes an effort to get you a table. Great customer service. Why can't every place be like that?

um YUMMIE!!!! When you are eating lunch & ask to see the dinner menu b/c your meal is so good you are thinking you might also come back for dinner---this is a very good sign. Best lunch we had in Vail, not that you can have bad food in Vail, in my opinion. Place was amazing [see my pix]. We went after skiing and were so dang hungry. We ate and ate and ate. Elk chili, YES please. Curry Chicken Salad, yes again! Trout, amazing! There were 6 of us and we were all overjoyed.

We had high expectations of the game burger. Party of 4 and 3 ordered it. It was overcooked and dry. Stay away from the game burger. Very disappointed probably will not return here.

My first night in Colorado was spent between my hotel in Bachelor Gulch and Beaver Creek. The Golden Eagle Inn came highly recommended and it absolutely did not disappoint. The service was fantastic (as a New Yorker that was a big plus) and the food was well crafted and delicious. As a huge bonus, all entrees were 30% off since it was the "off season."

Let me start by raving about the service. The server was attentive without being pushy. When we arrived, I asked about having blue cheese stuffed olives with my martini. Unfortunately, they did not have any at the bar. It took a few minutes for the drinks to arrive, and much to my delight, the server located blue cheese, and my martini arrived with the blue cheese stuffed olives I love. We ordered the Wag It steak which was fabulous, so very tender and tasty, and the elk meat loaf. For comfort food, it can't be beat. It was moist and the apricot chipotle sauce was perfect with it.

We had the rehearsal dinner for our son & daughter-in-law-to-be at the Golden Eagle Inn. What a wonderful evening. Things could not have been better. They had reserved half of the restaurant for us--partly in the outside dining area. The ambiance was perfect--warm, welcoming, comfortable. 50 of our best friends came and all I heard was how wonderful the food was. I especially enjoyed working with the assistant manager, Will Rhodes. Everything that we discussed came to pass. Highest Kudos to the Golden Eagle Inn Restaurant.

We stayed at the Ritz and went to many nice dinners in the area, however this was our favorite by far!! The trout was the best as well as the chowder. We should've eaten here for all our meals!! Great service too! We heard Beanos cabin was the best, but these guys gave them a run for their money!! Delicious!!

Phenomenal meal here, the best we've had in Beaver Creek since we got here. Fantastic server, very personable. Had the Colorado lamb loin (out of this world), and panko-crusted trout with pancetta. Furniture and decor laughable; food and service - authentic and phenomenal.

The Golden Eagle has changed for the better. We were quite pleased by the tastes & the portions. Everything from the trout to the elk was delicious. The best dish was the wild boar. The berry crisp was served warm with ice cream. The menu is limited & most entrees are around $30.

Place seems really nice....ordered soup. Came with a hair! Daughter went to the bar one night. Cheri was not nice. One more try...dinner. Food was delicious. Asked for dessert menu. Our (female) waitress decided chatting it up with two male customers was much more important than serving us. 15 mins. later, went to manager who was rude. He kept making excuses for his waitress. The waitress even forgot what we ordered and I had to remind her. I couldn't believe how rude the manager was (so mad I forgot to get his name). The place wasn't even busy. Food was good; however, very pricey for what you get.

I went here for lunch because the host was extremely friendly when I asked about the menu. The waitress "Bubba" was super rude. I asked a pretty normal question and she acted like I was an idiot. Totally put me off. The other waitresses were offering their tables the daily specials, bread with their meal, extra water, etc. I was obviously put in the wrong section. Ordered a half order of soup and sandwich. Tina portions and pretty bland. The snooty waitress then laughed as she was telling me that she ran my credit card on someone else's check. Not funny to me. I will not be back.

Nice stop for lunch at Beaver Creek. Clearly serves higher end clientele. On the day we visited, restaurant was mainly occupied by well-healed 60-something couples. Then, a group of diamond-encrusted cougars came in to mix things up. Cougars got wild...even ordering different vodkas for their Bloody Mary's. My 6 yo daughter was referred to as "mademoiselle" by wait staff which she loved. Food was excellent. Service great. Wife got Cobb salad, I got grilled chicken ciabatta with a side salad (really yum) and Thing 2 (Thing 1 was skiing) got grilled chicken with green beans and fries. Wife got a Pimm's and I got Hendricks martini. Pimm's got high marks from the wife. All in all, an excellent meal but perhaps a little pricey at near $100. But, hey, it's gotta be expensive to get food all the way up that canyon, right?

  • Ed J.

In my opinion, the Golden Eagle is the best all around restaurant in Beaver Creek. They are sometimes unfairly pegged as a "wild game" restaurant, and they usually have an elk or bison dish on the menu, but it is Colorado, and many good restaurants have similar offerings. No, the Golden Eagle really is an all around champ. They have a great wine and liquor list, fantastic entrees, and enough variety to please almost anyone. Don and David made sure tow welcome us and make us feel at home, and the food was fantastic. My daughter loves the crispy duck legs, I'm a big fan of the elk meatloaf and beef, and my wife has several different fish or quinoa type options to choose from as well. The service is impeccable, and although you can really put on a show for a client or date here, you can also have a great dinner with your family without breaking the bank. (And that is saying something in Beaver Creek) I will be back whenever we visit for skiing or summer fun.

Decent food although the Elk salad had very little meat. We also had the BLT and a Greek salad with chicken, which were both fine for lunch. We enjoyed the outdoor seating over looking the village which, combined with food that is "good enough," is reason to come back.

We took the kids to the ice skating rink and got really hungry and stopped in this place. By this time, the kids (ages 3 and 5) were super hungry and grouchy I thought we were going to get kicked out while being seated. Both my husband and I were so apologetic to the host that we even thought about leaving because we felt so bad - the kids weren't crying too loud but you could tell some people were a little bit distracted when they did double-takes. I knew they would quiet down once they started eating bread but it took a few minutes. The host came over and reassured us how normal it was to have kids in this restaurant and how Beaver Creek is known to be a kid-friendly place so we shouldn't worry about it. Both my husband and I looked at each other with a big sigh of relief. It was so nice to hear that!!! The food was great too but a little pricey. Our service by April was also very accommodating as she mentioned she's got four siblings herself. When we left, the host called for our shuttle to make sure we didn't have to wait too long in the cold. What an amazing place to feel at home!

Loved this place!!! Deco was beautiful but best of all the food was amazing. My hubby does not like tofu OR beets and LOVED the tofu appetizer (that has beets along the side). Everything was so delicious. Can't wait to come back next year to eat there again.

  • Alex G.

Above average food with friendly if overworked service. Closer to 3.5 stars, but I am awarding it 3, especially when price is factored in. We had one waitress for the whole section, all of whom sat at approximately the same time. In addition, she had to bus the tables in her area, which slows service and is somewhat gross - cleaning tables AND serving food? That's a bad idea. As for the food, it was tasty but not truly fine dining. The crusted trout was excellent, and as good as I've had anywhere. Shrimp pasta was average; but that's not a typical Colorado dish, of course. Steaks were perfectly cooked and full of natural flavor; even the kids' steak was cooked and seasoned properly. Overall, a decent place for an above average dinner.

  • Colleen H.

Had lunch and dinner here while on vacation. Lunch was soup and grilled cheese and the grilled cheese was fab! The homemade sour dough bread sealed the deal! Dinner was just a salad and the shrimp appetizer which were good, but obviously simple and not hard to mess up. I suggest this restuarant if you want a simple, easy meal in a relaxing setting. It was a nice change from the heavier much more expensive meals the rest of the vacation offered.
